Keep on Livin’

Here is another reason why You Tube and The Over Show don’t get along. You Tube doesn’t allow you to post videos where you don’t own 100% of the content in the video and I am pretty sure that the culpret who silenced this one was the one and only Bob Dylan. Now, I’m not going to hate on Uncle Bob that much because he’s in the hall of fame of the rock ‘n roll hall of fame.
Anyhow, I was really disappointed that this one got silenced because it has some of the best content that Damaged Goods has had in any video. So here is a gift to The Over Show, “Keep On Livin”, is now on our vimeo account. This one features Ausin, Josh, Zach Becker, Scott Lynn, and Jason Hartman aka The Rock!

Get ready for more BMX content that got silenced on Damaged Good’s You Tube page to be posted in the near future!

SJBMX is Dead

I just learned 20 minutes ago that Chris McMahon, aka Beerman at SJBMX can’t continue to keep going with the site. He covered the entire bmx scene in Northern California and even into Southern California and Reno. Being able to check SJBMX on a regular basis and see new posts all the time was quite a treat because you really got the feeling that there was a BMX community in the Bay Area. But just like all good things in life they need to come to an end and it was fun while it lasted. Good luck the rest of the way Beerman! Cheers!

Cherry Bomb

Here is a video called Cherry Bomb which features both McNaughton brothers, Josh Gray, Josh Baty, Josh Blau, Russell Haller, Tyler White, and N.E. Man.
Something to look for in the near future is a promo for The Over Show’s 2012 full length video. Hopefully we all can make that happen.

Anyhow, until next time.

Oakland in the Afternoon

Josh and I went to Oakland 3 days ago and filmed enough clips for a day edit. Or should I say a simple few hour edit? Either way we clocked in some decent clips in a short amount of time. We met this dude, Shane aka Shane Saw according to Josh, who has some cameo clips also. Enjoy and ride on.

Pacific Northwest Getaway “Freedom Trip” Teaser

http://www.vimeo.com/27231072

As summer went along, not a whole lot was happening. Waking up everyday and thinking “God damn it. What am I going to do today?” This is the first summer where I have been eagerly waiting for school to start again.

About a week and a half ago I figured that I had to go somewhere new. If I couldn’t find anyone to go I was just going to go alone but luckily Scott said that he was fully down. We made arbitrary plans on roughly where we were going the night before we left but there was no plan set in stone. Interstate 5 became a very common sight on the trip along with the golden arches since both of us were broke.
This video is a teaser for the video that will have all of the riding and music that we recorded along the way. I am going to try and have that video finished by the end of this week so check back soon.

2011 Spring BMX Edit

Hello Over Show fans! Long time no post. I’ve been busy with school for over a year now and I am jealous to see our Austin McNaughton get out of college before me but a HUGE congrats to him! We all wish him the best and a happy graduation party.
This here video is short and sweet and showing that my fellow riding friends and I are not dead. Yet anyways. Anyhow I will try to assure everyone that there will be more edits like this to come. Summer is on the way so let’s do it big this year!
See ya’ll soon

Animal Bikes “Cuts” Video Review

Animal is the dominant BMX company on the east coast selling various bike parts, clothing, and their newest video “Cuts.” Their previous videos “Can I Eat?”, and “All Day” were very innovative for their time especially “Can I Eat?”. “Cuts” on the other hand is not innovative even in the slightest sense by today’s standards for bike riding. Like what Austin said about S&M’s latest video “It makes you feel good about your riding”, the same can be said about “Cuts”. This video was edited by Bob Scerbo and Brian Wizmerski like Animals previous two videos and that is a good thing because it has the same NYC feel to it. Clip after clip of riding with no bullshit in between.
Mike Brennan starts us off with a gigantic 360 down I don’t know how many stairs and a guitar riff that makes Fares Jacke sound cool. This was a good choice to have Mike Brennan lead off because his part is an attention grabber.
Next up Wormz and Marv have 30 second long parts with two different songs. Nothing special in either one. Jeff Kocsis follows with a little bit longer part, but this dude makes riding a bike look real steezy. Wallride 180 off of a loading dock that looked good. Handrail to hard 180. I wish he would have clocked more footy for this video.
The German Max Gaertig follows, but I was disappointed because all of his clips were out of his RideBMX interveiw over a year ago. He did some great tricks though including a quadruple kinked rail to hard way tailwhip out which was impressive to see on film.
Dave Belcher is next and his section contained the best song in the video(in my opinion), “Lies” by “The knickerbockers” which isn’t saying a whole lot. The overall sound track for this video was bad.
Mike Osso and Jared Washington had parts that weren’t overly impressive because they didn’t have anything that stood out. Just casual bangers.
When I saw the next part I knew that I was too young to really appreciate the next rider’s riding. Ralph Sinisi is an east coast OG and he had a few clips in there that are impressive for someone as old as he is, and even if I spent all day trying to do a manual to fakie wallride on a flag pole I probably wouldn’t be able to pull it off.
Vinnie Sammon, who had the lead off part in “Can I Eat?” has the next part and it is the classic Vinnie Sammon.
Bob Scerbo’s part was the biggest disappointment in the video(in my opinion). He now rides 4 pegs with a free coaster brakeless which he uses to his full advantage but he looks like a total thug now. You could see the transition from normal dude to thuggish in “All Day”, but now he is full on thug and it doesn’t look good.
Now for the most impressive part of the video dun da da dun! Edwin DeLaRose impressed a lot of people I think. After seeing his part in “Stay Fit” I thought his career was coming to a close, but he slimmed down to 2 pegs and it helped his riding style for the better. Edwin looks like he’s got enough energy for a few more good video parts.
Tyrone Williams and Nigel Sylvester have the next parts, but they didn’t bring anything too impressive to the table.
Next, the man the myth the ledged Steven Hamilton comes to bat and he looks like what Scott described as “Chris Bogner if he rode BMX.” No innovative moves in this part sadly, but he does a barspin. Who knew he could barspin? He never did one in a video part before but I guess everyone has done a barspin once before in their lifetime.
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. That’s the song that Brian Wizmerski used for his part and I gotta say…What the fuck? Wiz is a punk now, pole jam to unclicked lookback 180 and his part in 2×4 was way better.
Tom White has the next notable part with big bangers with slim margin for error. Ill just say that is one hell of a way to make a living. He tore his ACL while filming this part though. But you see at the end that he took some gnarly crashes.
The next guy is someone who I have never heard of before but he could throw down some stuff. Garret Hoogerhyde. That is one hell of a last name.
The next part surprised me in a good way. Lino Gonzalez had second to last part and he didn’t disappoint. Even though he wasn’t as innovative as he normally is, he threw down some good gnarly technical tricks including a double peg to second stage crooked grind to 180.
The last part of the video came as a surprise and I think it surprised everyone who has seen this video. Butcher gets last laughs here. Even though his riding style is sloppy and he takes his self named grind to heart here, his last tricks are intense smith grind variations that looked like they took a while to pull off. I didn’t even know that Butcher still rode but his style hasn’t changed a bit.
6/10
